Insurance and Professional Standards

Hiring a coach is a business decision. Before you sign anything, you should know who you are contracting with, how your information is handled, and what sits behind the work if something goes wrong. Here it is.

How I Practice

Every coaching engagement I take on is delivered through BIZ Consulting USA LLC, the company I founded in 2007. Your agreement is with the company. Your invoice comes from the company. The coaching is delivered by me, personally, and I am covered under the company’s policies as its principal.

This matters for one practical reason: you are not contracting with an individual and a website. You are contracting with an established business that has been operating continuously since 2007 and has the paperwork to prove it.

Insurance Coverage

BIZ Consulting USA LLC carries professional liability and errors and omissions (E&O) coverage through Hiscox, one of the largest professional indemnity insurers in the world. That coverage extends to the executive coaching, leadership development, and workplace wellness work I deliver.

If your procurement, legal, or vendor management team needs a certificate of insurance before we begin, ask and I will send it. Most corporate clients require one. I have it ready, and it does not slow anything down.

What This Means for You

  • Your organization can onboard me through its normal vendor process without exceptions or workarounds.
  • The professional risk of the engagement is carried on my side of the table, where it belongs.
  • You are working with a practice that has addressed its business obligations rather than one that hopes the question never comes up.

Confidentiality

What you say in a session stays in the session. This is written into the coaching agreement, not left to good intentions.

When an organization sponsors the engagement, I report only what we agree to in advance, and that reporting covers attendance, engagement, and progress against stated goals. It never covers content. Your sponsor does not get a transcript of what you told me, and I will tell you exactly what will be shared before we start.

I use AI-assisted tools to generate notes from recorded sessions. Any material that leaves my system for professional development, supervision, or credentialing review is de-identified first. This is spelled out in Section 6D of the coaching agreement, and you can decline it without affecting the engagement.

Scope of Practice

Coaching is not therapy, medical treatment, or legal or financial advice. I do not diagnose, and I do not treat.

If something you bring to a session belongs with a licensed professional, I will say so directly and help you find the right referral. Knowing where my work ends is part of doing it properly.
